China CITIC Bank Corporation Ltd. (CCBC) is the fifth largest commercial bank in China with listing on the Shanghai and Hong Kong Stock Exchange. It was founded in 1987.CCBC offers a wide range of services for corporate customers (corporate banking, international business, financial market operations, institutional business, investment banking, factoring and custody) and individuals (retail banking, credit cards, customer lending, wealth management, private banking, international financing and e-banking).

In April 2018, CCBC jointly with China Shuangwei Investment Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of China National Tobacco Corporation) acquired a 60% stake in Altyn Bank from Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan JSC, marking the first direct investment by a Chinese financial institution in Kazakhstan’s banking sector.
China Shuangwei Investment Co., Ltd. was founded in 2008 and is a subsidiary of China National Tobacco Corporation. The main activities of the company are large strategic investment projects in the field of banking, insurance, securities, energy industry and integrated tobacco industry.
Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan JSC has been present on the market for over 90 years and is the leading financial group in Kazakhstan operating in various segments, including retail, small and medium enterprises and corporate banking services, insurance, leasing, brokerage and asset management. The Bank has been listed on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange since 1998 and on the London Stock Exchange since 2006.
